Fields of specialization include multi modal transport studies, design of new highways, bridges, railway facilities, airport facilities, improvement and reconstruction of highways and bridges, traffic surveys, soil and foundation investigations, materials testing, pre contract services. Projects have been executed in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Kazakhstan.

Irrigation & Drainage

This has been a core area of expertise of the company. In addition to Sri Lanka areas of operation cover Indonesia and Bangladesh. Projects have been planned, designed and implemented to improve minor, medium and major irrigation works and water management facilities, to mitigate flooding in large and mid sized urban areas. In addition the company has prepared regional water resources inventories, river basin profiles, guidelines for the improvement of farmer organizations and irrigation institutions, carried out hydrological assessments, O & M studies and trained catalysts to improve performance of irrigation systems.

ECL has been engaged in projects such as solid and hazardous waste management, conservation of natural resources, environment protection, and coastal zone management. Services provided include impact on natural environment, flora and fauna surveys, water quality and effluent analysis, noise and air pollution studies, strengthening of environmental institutions at national and sub national levels, planning and policy formulation, assistance to implement licensing schemes. Projects have been carried out in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and North Korea
